Introduction to Timesheet Permissions
This section outlines four key permissions that control how timesheets function within the Impact Suite. Two of these permissions are general controls that govern the creation and management of Timesheet Templates and Timesheet Positions. The other two permissions are Finish Line–specific, defining how status thresholds are set and how Time Off Calendars are managed within launched templates.
As part of this update, we’ve renamed Timesheet Associations to Timesheet Positions to better reflect their critical role in linking reporters to the correct templates and ensuring accurate timesheet tracking.
Because these permissions can affect entire templates — and therefore all reporters assigned to them — they should only be granted to Admins who are authorized to make global, program-wide decisions. Misuse or accidental changes may cause program-wide disruptions.
To safeguard program integrity:
Assign these permissions sparingly.
Limit access to trusted staff with clear program-wide authority.
Remember: even if an Admin holds global permissions, they can only be assigned to one of two roles — Timesheet Site Supervisor or Timesheet Director.
Accessing and Updating Timesheet Permissions in Your Admin Roles
Changes to these permissions are made at the Admin Role level. Each Admin is assigned an Admin Role, and the permissions available to them are determined by the settings configured for that role.
To update which Admins can create, manage, or adjust Timesheet Templates, Positions, Finish Line Statuses, or Time Off Calendars, you’ll need to edit the permissions tied to the relevant Admin Role. Any updates made to an Admin Role will automatically apply to all Admins assigned to that role.
This role-based structure ensures consistency across your program while giving you precise control over who has the authority to make program-wide decisions.
Here's how:
On the left, in your Mission Control, click Reporters, Admin, & Sites.
- On the right, click Manage admin roles.
- Find the staff role you need to update and click the Edit link.
- When the window opens, scroll to and open the panel called Timesheets.
The next section of this article reviews these permissions in more depth.
REMEMBER: Because these permissions can affect entire templates — and therefore all reporters assigned to them — they should only be granted to Admins who are authorized to make global, program-wide decisions. Misuse or accidental changes may cause program-wide disruptions. - Select the relevant permissions to assign to the selected Admin Role, and then scroll to the bottom of the window, and click Update.

More about Timesheet Permissions
General Permissions
Create & Manage Timesheet Positions
This permission allows an Admin to create, edit, archive, and delete Timesheet Positions.
Timesheet Positions were previously called Timesheet Associations. The new name better reflects their critical role in linking reporters to templates and ensuring accurate timesheet tracking.
By managing Positions, Admins determine how individual reporters are connected to the correct Timesheet Template.
Create & Manage Timesheet Templates
This permission allows an Admin to create, edit, archive, and delete Timesheet Templates.
Templates form the foundation of timesheet tracking. They define the structure, rules, and reporting framework for all reporters assigned to them.
Admins with this permission hold full control over a template’s lifecycle — from creation through retirement.
Finish Line–Specific Permissions
Manage Finish Line Status (for launched templates only)
This permission allows an Admin to set and adjust the percentage thresholds that define the Finish Line Status categories: Ahead, On Track, Behind, and Really Behind.
These thresholds apply to Timesheet Positions tied to launched templates.
Important Note
Any changes to thresholds are template-wide. Updates affect all reporters assigned to the template, not just those tied to the Admin’s sites.
Best Practice
Because updates impact every reporter on a template, grant this permission only to Admins authorized to make program-wide decisions.
Create & Manage Time Off Calendars (for launched templates only)
This permission allows an Admin to create, edit, and manage Time Off Calendars.
In this first release, the permission grants full access at the template level.
Any changes apply to all reporters tied to the template, regardless of site assignment.
Important Note
Because changes apply at the template level, updates made by one Admin will impact every reporter connected to that template’s Time Off Calendars.
Best Practice
Grant this permission only to Admins authorized to make program-wide decisions. Until site-level controls are introduced, limiting this role to a small number of trusted staff will help prevent unintended disruptions.
