Importing/Copying fields from a Previous Template in signNow
If you've already mapped fields in a signNow template in the past for the same or a similar document, there's no need to map all of those fields again. Here's how to copy those fields from a previous template in signNow.
- In America Learns, navigate to the field you'd like to upload a new document for and select either "Upload Another Document" or "Add Signing Fields & Assign Signers."
- Follow your normal signNow document upload flow (review the complete process here if needed). At Step 1, be sure to assign a signing flow that matches the signing flow on your previous template.
- Upload the document you would like signed.
- Once your document is ready, click Settings in the upper right-hand corner.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, select Import Fields.
- Repeat Step 5 two to three times. (This is because signNow's API logs you in to signNow on the first try, and then connects to your documents on the second or third. You may also need to reinput your signNow password and username if prompted.)
Once you're logged into signNow's portal, the popup window will look something like this: - From the Import Fields screen, select the folder on the left labeled Templates and click on the template you'd like to copy fields from. A blue check mark will appear. Then select Next.
- You will then be prompted to Assign Roles. Assign each Role labeled XXX - (New Role) to its corresponding original role, as shown in the video below:
- On the bottom right, select Import field(s).
- That's it! The fields from your previous document will carry over to the new one.
